Getting started
What Mach Triage is (and why it exists)
Mach Triage is a desktop-first command center for the work already living in Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues, or a local-only list—without turning your day into a browser tab rodeo. You get fast triage, a Today board that matches how you actually work, and standup-ready summaries built from real ticket movement—not from memory.
Before you start
You only need a few things on hand. Everything else can wait until you care.
- A Mach Triage account on this site (email/password or Google).
- The desktop app installed on macOS or Windows—the web portal is your account home; the app is where triage happens.
- One decision about your first workspace: go cloud-connected (Jira, Linear, or GitHub Issues) or choose local-only and connect a provider later. On Free, you get exactly one workspace slot—local or one connected provider, not both at once.
- Pro (optional) if you already know you need multiple workspaces, one-tap sign-in to tools, Manager View, or Mach Armory. The Raycast extension works on Free and Pro.
Your first five minutes: a guided path
Follow this sequence once. The goal is a real win: signed in, desktop open, and your first queue visible.
Sign in here. Use the home page or Login with email and password or Google. If a sign-in window is blocked, allow popups for this site and try again.
Open the desktop app from the browser. After sign-in, the site tries to hand you to the Mach Triage desktop app when the OS allows it. Approve Open or Allow when asked. If nothing launches, use the copy link or fallback on that page—see Desktop callback below. Leave the tab alone for a few seconds while the handoff finishes.
Activate manually if needed. On the desktop Login screen, paste the machtriage:// link or MACH-AUTH-TOKEN: line from the portal—the same outcome as an automatic open.
Connect your first workspace (or skip to local-only). In setup, pick Jira (site + token or Pro OAuth), Linear (API key or Pro sign-in), GitHub Issues (repo + token or Pro sign-in), or Skip & use local-only for a blank slate first. Pro adds unlimited workspaces and faster sign-in when you scale—see Pricing.
Your first win inside the app. Press Ctrl+K (Windows) or ⌘K (Mac) to open the Triage command palette. With the search box empty, the main area is your Today board. Press comma while holding Ctrl or ⌘ to open Settings. Optional: accept the short first-session tour when offered.
Desktop callback (`/desktop-callback`)
Sometimes the browser stops on a Mach Triage page whose address ends in /desktop-callback. That screen exists so you can approve opening the desktop app, copy a link if the OS blocks the jump, or finish sign-in when a provider opened a separate window.
- Expected: a brief screen with Open / Allow style actions and a copyable link if you need a manual path.
- Stuck in a loop: pause blockers, try another browser, and confirm the desktop app is installed. Use the copy control on that page instead of refreshing endlessly.
- Wrong site: make sure you are on the same Mach Triage website your desktop build expects (for example production vs staging).
Plan status after checkout
Upgrades use secure checkout from your dashboard. Your plan label updates automatically—give it a moment right after purchase.
- Free access is available as soon as your account exists.
- After checkout, refresh the dashboard if Pro does not appear within a minute.
When something goes wrong (plain-language safety net)
- Desktop did not launch: use the fallback link on the callback page, then check OS and browser prompts for opening Mach Triage. Paste the handoff link or token into the desktop login if needed.
- Still not Pro after checkout: wait a minute, refresh the dashboard, then use Support with the email you used to sign in.
- Wrong account: sign out, close old tabs, and start again from the home or login page.
- Popups blocked: allow popups for this site for Google or email sign-in, then retry.
